Our recent trip to Tuscany with Together in Tuscany, led by Janine, was nothing short of magical. We stayed in a stunning villa near Montepulciano — one of four exquisite properties that Janine personally curates — and from the moment we arrived, every detail was perfectly orchestrated for a luxurious and welcoming experience. Afternoon tea was served outside on the lawn overlooking the hills of Tuscany, along with a selection of local wine and freshly cut cheeses. It was a moment of perfect calm, a gentle welcome to Tuscany where every detail seemed to whisper, “slow down, you’ve arrived.” Janine crafted a thoughtfully paced itinerary that struck the perfect balance between exploration and relaxation. Each day revealed a new delight: private tours of historic churches, world-class wineries, and charming hilltop towns — all made effortless with our private driver. Every evening, we returned to our villa to unwind before savoring gourmet dinners prepared by our private Italian chef. Over the course of the week, we formed a wonderful bond with our chef, Antonella, and her delightful assistant, Anna. Their warmth and humor filled our dinners with laughter and conversation, turning every meal into a joyful celebration of friendship and authentic Tuscan hospitality. We even learned a few new Italian phrases. The trip was a feast for the senses. Highlights included wine-pairing lunches, olive oil tastings, a visit to a family-run dairy farm for an unforgettable cheese tasting and lunch overlooking the rolling Tuscan hills, and even a hands-on cooking class with Antonella and Anna. We also dined at a lovely local restaurant in Sarteano, where we enjoyed authentic Tuscan flavors in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Another favorite memory was wandering through Tuscany’s quaint villages — cobblestone streets lined with artisanal boutiques, leather workshops, handmade ceramics, and irresistible specialty food shops. Each stop offered the perfect chance to bring home a piece of Tuscany’s artistry and charm. Perhaps the most unforgettable experience was our day at Castello di Fighine, where we were welcomed by the castle’s family to paint ceramic tiles in a private workshop. Afterward, we lingered over a leisurely lunch beneath the garden pergola, followed by a second course served in their private quarters — on plates bearing the family crest. It was a once-in-a-lifetime blend of art, history, and hospitality. Our hand-painted tiles were later delivered to our villa — a perfect keepsake of the day. And throughout it all, the landscape cast its own spell — endless vineyards, olive groves, and those iconic cypress trees standing tall under the golden Tuscan sun, guiding us along winding roads that seemed to lead straight into a dream. Every moment reflected Janine’s passion for crafting immersive, culturally rich, and truly personalized journeys. What made it even more remarkable was how accessible it all felt — a five-star, bespoke experience at an exceptionally reasonable price. If you’re dreaming of Tuscany and want an elevated, effortless, and enchanting escape, Together in Tuscany is the ultimate way to experience the region’s beauty, flavors, and heritage. Janine has truly mastered the art of meaningful, luxurious travel. We are already thinking about our next trip! AEV

Janine's expertise in planning, orchestrating and executing a successful and fully booked women's Wellness retreat was clear from get-go! Collaborating with her this trip was educational and fun indeed-excursions, plans, schedules, information for many things along the way even before packing was exceptional. I look forward to doing another one with her! I highly recommend her trips, even if the wellness component is not highlight-you will feel better having gone along with her.

I had such amazing experiences on this retreat! A great opportunity to connect with old and new friends. As a previous B&B/retreat owner and many years spent in the industry, I can say that this retreat was well beyond my expectations and I sincerely wish for folks to just jump in and follow your heartstrings. The food, the ambiance and all the memories with our hosts, facilitators and new comrades (including tour guides) equates to a 10+++. As much as I loved my own retreat chalet, this was on a whole different, unique and fabulous level! Janine, Monica and Laura blended their incredible talents to create magic with this “Yoga on Italy” retreat! Ciao ❤️

As a solo traveler, I was so impressed with Janine O'Rourke's passion of creating a safe, enjoyable wellness and travel experiences for silver aged travelers. Our excursions were well organized and informative. My favorite part was hiking the high stone steps in Cinque Tera. It was a personal fitness victory for me that I never would have experienced without this trip. Janine has the unique ability to lead while also enjoying herself. She loved being with all of us and it showed. There was never a time where I didn't feel included and valued as a participant even though most of the other women knew each other. The villa in Tuscany, Laura, our host and her staff were OUTSTANDING. The food was so delightful and all fresh, of course, my room was perfect. The cab drivers, the cooks, the massage therapists were all top notch. I highly recommend Travel in Tuscany.

Thank you Janine for sharing your experience! I enjoyed meeting you and getting to know you during the retreat. You were meant to be on this retreat and we were meant to connect - Janines spelled the same way! Thank you also for providing a great workshop to the group on bravery. You were courageous yourself for coming on this retreat as a solo traveler. I look forward to seeing you on future trips!

I would recommend this trip to anyone looking to spend a week together with like minded women. The experience included a balance between visits to local wineries, touring a few lovely villages, walking, biking, hiking, yoga, cooking class, swimming, boat rides, shopping and an optional opera! There was also time available to relax at the villa and have a massage. This review would not be complete without a shout out to the chef. The vegetarian food was amazing.
